There's room for light in this 20" sterling silver box chain necklace with
striking pendant and a furnace glass bead. The cracked appearance of the thin opal cabochon is
like the saying about broken hearts being the most
open to light; the dark lines highlight the play of light in the opal. Furnace glass (also called cane glass) is created from pulling
blown glass rods then cutting the cooled glass in sections, such as this bead with a magenta core
surrounded by clear glass. Artistry shows in the bail details of the sterling silver pendant, and
the necklace shows pleasing simplicity with the trim but solid box chain anchoring the pendant. Sterling
