This package contains 12 cards with designs from the Joseph Pennell collection at the Library of Congress.
Joseph Pennell was an American artist, illustrator, printmaker, and writer from America's golden age of
illustration (late 1800s through early 1900s). His artwork is largely geographic, featuring scenic views
of architectural subjects showing a rapidly changing world. Pennell used pen and ink, watercolor, wash,
gouache, charcoal, pastel, pencil, crayon, and lithographic crayon in sketchbooks, and many designs
went unpublished in his lifetime.
Cards are printed with
archival inks on heavy cardstock paper and include matching envelopes, and purchase
options include all 16 designs, the first half, and the second half.
