Gaea is the earth mother, the primordial deity in Greek myths who partnered with the sky (Uranus)
to create the Titans. Colors of sky and earth meet in this 17" multistrand necklace of
iolite and chrysoprase, semi-precious gemstones are treasured for their intense color
and beauty. Iolite, also called "water sapphire," is a ring silicate mineral made strong
by tetrahedra. The two strands in this necklace show the possible variation in color, from pale
blue purple to deep midnight blue. Chrysoprase is a translucent, vibrant green chalcedony
(fine-grained quartz). The gemstones shine from strands with sterling silver oval chain and
beads, and the strands connect in a lovely fan-shaped sterling silver hook and eye clasp.
