The Castle Dome turquoise mine is near the Sleeping Beauty turquoise mine by Globe, Arizona. Like Sleeping
Beauty turquoise, Castle Dome turquoise has a bright, clear blue color from high copper content, but Castle
Dome turquoise includes more matrix, such as seen in the smooth, graduated chips in this 18" necklace.
Turquoise chips range from approximately 5-6mm to 12-13mm, and they are separated by clear, flashing rainbow
moonstone gemstones. The Castle Dome mine ceased operation in the 1970s, and many beads such as these are
made from mining remnants. The beads are strung on natural silk cord for superior drape and strength.
The necklace fastens easily with a sterling silver hook and eye clasp.
