Bumblebee jasper is not a quartz-family stone; instead, it is Indonesian volcano
lava and sediment that have been compacted to form a relatively soft stone with
a Mohs hardness of 3-5. The unusual yellow-orange coloring is natural and the color
is mixed with a dark matrix for a striking contrast. This 32" necklace of
small 4mm rondelles combined with aventurine rectangles, hematite, pyrite and
delicate Miyuki glass seedbeads can be worn long as a single strand necklace, doubled
as a short 16" necklace, or wrapped multiple times as a bracelet. The necklace
is fastened with a 14kt gold fill magnetic clasp which literally makes it a snap to
change configurations.
