The lotus flower is a sacred in Hinduism in which deities like Vishnu and Lakshmi hold or associate
themselves with the fertility, beauty and prosperity of the lovely bloom. The unfolding petals
can be seen as an expanding soul, and the lotus is a thing of beauty that grows from the mud.
The lotus within this 3/4" vermeil pendant opens in profile, showing open petals and
gleaming in gold. (Vermeil is a process of gold-plating sterling silver with 22kt or 24kt gold.)
The pendant hangs from a 29" vermeil chain spaced with faceted ruby gemstones for a warm,
wonderful piece that can be worn long or short. The clasp is a strong 14kt gold-fill magnetic clasp
that will snap away cleanly if caught by the wearer while in motion, making it safe for wear
