On the banks of the Trinity river, one may stroll through millions of years under a warm
spring sun watching kids chase splashing dogs. Fossils of ammonite and mollusks
peak through the grass and bluebells as the river dances by. Ammonites were predatory
squidlike creatures living in coiled shells that roamed the seas for millions of years
before the dinosaurs and went extinct along with the dinosaurs 65 million years ago. Ammonite fossils,
such as the one found in this pendant, are common and form as the hard shell remains but sediment
replaces soft tissue, and eventually the layer becames sedimentary rock. The ammonite pendant is about
1 1/2" with sterling silver bail, and it's paired with an 18" multi-color coated stainless steel wire
necklace with sleek torsion clasp.
