Wool felt results from natural fibers that are processed with moisture, heat, and/or agitation to
cause the fibers to interlock, creating a sturdy fabric. Wool felt balls may be created different ways, but
the basic process is to roll wool roving in balls and bind them (much like shrinking sweaters in the
dryer, only on purpose). Generally, wool roving is made from sheep or alpaca raw fibers. The balls may be
dyed for a terrific range of color.
Other fibers included here are cotton, rayon, and acrylic yarns. These may be braided, crocheted, or
otherwise combined to make colorful, interesting pieces to wear and enjoy.
