They shopped for velvet and lace, made into dresses by seamstresses always seemingly from unfortunate circumstances and without much skill. Although her Auntie-Grannie seemed a bit more bawdy than her Miss Marple, her famous Victorian-minded detective, both found themselves quite justified in thinking the worst about people: "a mind like a sink!" is an often used phrase throughout Marple mysteries. Yet, her Victorian minded characters were ladies and understood style of manner and dress. Care & cleaning: Store necklace flat when not in use to prevent stretching knotted silk thread between beads. Clean with warm soapy water and avoid chemical or abrasive cleaners. Use a soft jewelry polishing cloth to clean tarnish appearing on silver. Dyed chalcedony typically fades with time, especially with exposure to sunlight so it would be a good idea to store the necklace in a dark place as well.
