The Baltic region in Russia is home to one of the largest known amber deposits, and baltic amber refers
to amber exported from this region. Baltic amber ranges from pale yellow to deep orange red and even
dark green. It's estimated to be 44 million years old, from Sciadopityaceae family conifer forests
in the Eocene epoch. Amber is a fossilized tree resin and relatively soft as a material though not porous like
other soft materials; it's also very lightweight. This set includes amber cabochons on twining sterling silver
links in a 8" bracelet and 2" earrings.
