The bold jewel bright colors and smooth lines of the glass beads in this versatile 30" necklace are
like the beloved tulip. The glass beads are a combination of green and deep-ruby red Czech pressed glass rounds,
iridescent lampwork glass rounds and teardrops, and stunning furnace glass (or cane glass) beads drawn
and cut from long thin tubes. There are a number of suppliers for furnace glass, but my favorite was
Fire Designs, a studio out of Washington. It's hard to find their beads now, which makes designs such as
this one so special. This necklace can be worn long or doubled as a choker.

Although the thread is quite strong, the sterling silver bead tips are softer and can be
bent or broken with sustained, hard tugging or pulling. As with
all beaded jewelry: do not let young toddlers chew on it.
