The deep blue to blue-purple gemstones of kyanite and iolite shine in these 1" earrings created by the artisans at SilverRocks. Faceted iolite stones accompany lustrous kyanite cabochons in impeccable sterling silver with nice wide sterling silver earwires for ease of wear. Although it's not noticeable in these earrings, kyanite is unusual in that it has two hardness values, one along its lustrous fibers and one across them (Mohs hardness of 4.5 to 6).

Care & cleaning: Clean with warm soapy water and avoid chemical or abrasive cleaners. Use a soft jewelry polishing cloth to clean tarnish appearing on silver.

The wearer of the earrings is likely to yelp before any damage is done to the earrings from various tugs and pulls. As with all beaded jewelry: do not let young toddlers chew on it.
