In the 1981 movie "Clash of the Titans", the monstrous Kraken emerges from the sea to claim the fair Andromeda shackled as sacrifice to save her home city of Joppa. "Release the Kraken!" is a line that has stuck with me and it never fails to give me a chuckle as I think of the jerky many-armed beast rising from the water. (In fairness, the stop-motion visual effects were among the best fantasy effects of the time.) I think of this necklace channeling our inner Kraken, that fearsome beast we summon to wreak destruction. In reality, it is an octopus design on a pewter 1 1/4" drop with a lovely green Hanah Silk™ hand-dyed ribbon.

Length: necklace - 40"

Materials:

  • lead-free pewter 1 1/4" round with resin
  • silk 5/8" ribbon

Care & cleaning: Clean with warm soapy washcloth (do not submerge) and avoid chemical or abrasive cleaners. Use a soft jewelry polishing cloth to clean tarnish appearing on pendant.

Both the silk ribbon and pendant are robust to loving hands, but the pendant will slide off the silk ribbon and could present a serious choke hazard. As with all beaded jewelry: do not let young toddlers chew on it.
