In Robert Frost's poem "Nothing Gold Can Stay" the first green of plants is like gold, and
this can be taken literally and figuratively; new growth often starts as glowing green-gold and mellows
into the cool hues we love so well. The poem goes on to speak of the transience of beautiful moments,
such as dawn giving way to day, so there is also the feeling of pricelessness to nature's new growth
and continued renewal - nothing this beautiful and this precious can stay. The two colors, green and
gold, are the feature in this intricate bracelet of faceted quartz beads, 14kt gold-fill components
and delicate Japanese glass seedbeads. The gemstones are cut in the popular and striking
checkerboard style. The champagne quartz is natural, and the green quartz has been heat treated.
Because green quartz (prasiolite) often starts as amethyst that is then heated, it has been referred to as
"green amethyst", though amethyst is simply quartz as well. The scale of the bracelet
supports a larger gold-fill toggle clasp, which
makes wearing the bracelet simple and lovely.
