Cafe au lait is the French term for the combination of hot brewed coffee with hot milk. In coffee bars, this milk is usually steamed from the espresso machine yet the drink can be made with any form of warmed milk. In the US, cafe au lait is made with strong brewed coffee while caffe latte is made from espresso. Coffed and milk are the colors in this 17" necklace featuring handcrafted lampwork glass, freshwater pearls, and wood. Copper accents the deep rich hues, and delicate Miyuki glass seedbeads act as contrasting spacers. The swirled brown lampwork glass beads are made by artisans at Unicorne Beads, a small business in California that has been making beautiful glass creations since 1967. Large chocolate brown cultured pearls are accented by brushed copper discs and wood beads will rest smooth and light on the neck. Easy to use copper S-clasp.

Length: necklace - 17"

Materials:

  • Unicorne Beads lampwork glass teardrops
  • wood beads
  • natural freshwater pearls
  • dyed freshwater pearls
  • Japanese Miyuki glass seedbeads
  • copper beads and components
  • antiqued copper S-clasp
  • Power Pro synthetic braided beading cord

Care & cleaning: Beading cord may be kinked or broken through hard jerks or severed through prolonged exposure to rough or sharp edges; store necklace flat when not in use to prevent stretching or kinking cord. Clean with warm soapy washcloth and avoid chemical or abrasive cleaners. Use a soft jewelry polishing cloth to clean tarnish appearing on metal.

The materials and cord are robust against tugs and pulls, though care should be taken because hard impacts can damage the softer pearls and wood. As with all beaded jewelry: do not let young toddlers chew on it.
