Bubo the Owl is the mechanical owl created by Hephaestus in the 1981 movie, The Clash of the Titans,
to aid Perseus. Bubo represented Athena's magical bird, though the clockwork version experienced
more mishaps than the original. The owl on the verseil coin pendant comes from
an owl of Athena design used on ancient Greek coins (approximately 500 BCE), and the
inscription "ΑΘΕ" is short for "ΑΘΗΝΑΙΩΝ" meaning "of the Athenians."
Like Athena, the owl was known for wisdom and knowledge.
The coin hangs from an 18" 14kt gold-fill bar link necklace with lobster claw clasp.
