The deep golden color and simple shape of the citrine suggested a bartlett pear. Bartlett pears acquired their name from an American gentleman who was unaware that the trees on his estate were Williams pears from Europe; he called them after himself and the name remains. They are a summer fruit and the most common pears outside Asia.

Length: necklace - 16" with 3/4" pendant

Materials:

  • gemstones in sterling silver pendant
  • 16" sterling silver 1mm omega chain

Care & cleaning: Clean with warm soapy water and avoid chemical or abrasive cleaners. Use a soft jewelry polishing cloth to clean tarnish appearing on silver.

The safety concern with this necklace is not the necklace - it's the neck! Eventually the chain will break, but probably not before it abrades the neck underneath. For those who have not tried an omega chain, I recommend it highly! They are strong, firm and maintain their lovely rounded shape. As with all beaded jewelry: do not let young toddlers chew on it.

This 16" necklace and pendants can be worn with most necklines, from casual t-shirts to tucked beneath collared shirts. The omega chain is thicker and stiffer than most sterling silver chains (hence, also more expensive) and curves beautifully, even with a lightweight pendant such as this one.
