Garnet is the gemstone of wine and the vine. As a group, garnets are widespread and include
rose red to dark red pyrope, orange spessartine, green grossular, and cinnamon colored hessonite.
The graduated flat teardrop gemstones in this 22" necklace are typical of pyrope garnet,
whose deep wine-purple color results from trace amounts of chromium, titanium, and manganese.
The teardrops range from approximately 5mm in length to approximately 12mm, and they are
spaced with mellow citrine gemstones and 14kt gold-fill beads. This longer necklace makes
