The sun shines always with this sparkling citrine gemstone 18" necklace.
In Greek mythology, Helios personified the sun which was drawn across the sky
by a grand chariot. Citrine is a macrocrystalline quartz rich in iron dioxide,
which provides the yellow color. Other varieties of quartz, like amethyst or
smoky quartz, may be heated to create deep yellow-gold color, though the smooth citrine
teardrops in this necklace are natural in color. These light gemstones are combined
with dark, rainbow coated hematite for contrasting color. Like citrine, hematite also
has iron oxide, though far more abundantly as an oxide mineral. The necklace fastens
with a snap thanks to a gold-plated brass magnetic clasp.
