In its natural state, topaz is yellow to sherry colored and can be confused with citrine. However,
colorless or pale yellow topaz turns pale to deep blue with heat treatment and/or irradition, both
effects which are permanent (no fading with time or exposure to strong light). Blue topaz can be described
as "sky blue", "Swiss blue", or "London blue" which roughly corresponds
to the depth of color, with London blue being the darkest blue. Although sky blue topaz strands are
fairly economical, high quality Swiss blue and London blue topaz can be quite valuable. The London blue
topaz faceted gemstones in this necklace are in that category; their color depth and clarity are
top grade. Hill Tribe
silver hammered beads, stamped spacers and a delicate beaded strand mix with the gemstones and dyed
freshwater pearls for a look both elegant and individual. We may be separated
from watery origins and feel the awkwardness of land locomotion and social
settings, but at least there's beautiful jewelry to wear. The lobster clasp with
extension chain adjusts the length from close to the neck
in a choker style to a longer princess length.
