Furnace glass and wood beads are the building blocks of this colorful, 18" multistrand necklace. Furnace glass is also called "cane glass" which refers to the traditional Italian glass-making method of using small canes of glass within larger canes for decoration. The heated canes are pulled out to create bead shapes and cooled slowly through annealing. The wood beads are natural or stained hardwood, and all beads are strung on 1.5mm metallic leather cord. The necklace fastens with a sterling silver toggle clasp.
