In Muddy Road two monks are traveling and one helps a young woman cross a river (contact with women considered unwise and dangerous). They continue traveling until the other monk asks why he did it, to which the first says, "I left the girl there. Are you still carrying her?" The analogy woman : river :: burden : journey, represents the woman as the burden the first monk still carries long after the second monk has already set her down. It's a good reminder to release that which is not needed or helpful for the journey ahead. Pendant is 1" silver-plated brass circle with watercolor paper design and glaze and hangs from a delicate 18" sterling silver cable chain necklace with spring ring clasp.

Cost: $24.00 USD
